My name is Mehrdad Biglarbegian. I am a Ph.D. candidate in Power Electronics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte working under the supervision of Dr. Babak Parkhideh in PV Integration Laboratory.

I graduated with B.Sc. degree in Electrical Power System Engineering from School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Tehran. I also received my M.Sc. degree in Energy Engineering from Politecnico di Milano mostly dedicated of Renewable Energy Sources. I also as an exchange student at ACS defended my M.Sc. thesis entitled with “Design, Implantation, and Evaluation of Cooperative Methods for Short Term Compensation of Deviation loads from Load Schedule for Dual Demand Side Management” as a joint project RWTH and Politecnico di Milano where working with Professor Antonello Monti and Dr. Fabio Rinaldi.

I served as a Ph.D. visitor scholar at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, Germany, and Ph.D. researcher intern at ABB Corporate Research Center in 2016 at Raleigh, North Carolina. My expertise includes diagnostics and reliability enhancement of wide band gap based power electronics converters, sensing analysis of high power and high-frequency converters. My research interest also is on power electronics for utilities with the specific focus on High switching frequency inverters for Solar Photovoltaics applications.
